Can anyone suggest things not to miss or that are traditional and should be tried? I'm most likely going to be this side of broke, but if I know in advance, I can try to save up.

Also, anything inexpensive involving people, like a meet up, would be wonderful. I love meeting new people and am very low maintainance.

Thanks, all! :D

London
Hi there,

I noticed your post on brits_americans but didn't want to reply there... they can be very touchy at times. I'm a Texan who has recently moved to London and plan on living here through christmas so I'd be delighted to meet you when you come. Nobody should have to spend christmas alone!

Also, I noticed you dig Bill Nye. You're alright!

Re: ::Dies of envy::
LOL, you're icon is amazing!

I had the good fortune of seeing Bill at a NASA lecture in '05. Actually, I snuck into the lecture because I heard he'd be there. Afterwards I forced my way to the front of the room and pretended we'd met before and shook his hand. Sigh, indeed.

Mind if I ask whereabouts you're from? I'm also vacationing because I have a home but no visa and I know what you mean about the money. It's rough!

I'm from Columbus, GA which is just south of Nowhere. I'm planning a three month trip and have theater tickets for David Tennant! I mean, Hamlet... no I mean David bloody Tennant!!!!!

I've always anted to, and when my cancer when into remission I decided there's no time like now. Tired of waiting around for my life to start. It's scary because so much is up in the air, but its the fear that makes it worthwhile. I'm done dying, time to start living.

yeah I'm up for a meet up so long as I'm around and I don't know when or if I am because of uni and stuff

as for things to do with little money - you've got me stumped.

you could look on the bbc webstie SRO audiences and applause store as often as possible to see if they have any free audience tickets to any shows you may want to see?

other then that sorry I really don't know

oh you'll be alon on christmas? I mean ... I can totally understand if you'd rather be in the UK for that but should you feel too lonely or anything - you can always spend xmas with me/us. My mom and me, we love to house people for xmas *beams*

just so you know. She's totally OK with that ... she's actually asking me nearly daily by now if we have set a date for you to come to Germany ^^ she SO wants to meet you, it's scary (but ... in a good way, if that makes sense ^^)

*huggles*

happy birthday, again :)

it's me, just on a public computer
That would put me there for like, a whole month. Is that ok? I mean, would that be too much? I'm flying home on the 9th of January, but I haven't bought the ticket yet, and I had it in plan to visit your home pretty much in December, but I don't want to assume or overstay my welcome. I'm free and easy, so it's really up to you, and your mom, of course. :)

OMG, this has been the best birthday ever! I'm so excited!

Re: it's me, just on a public computer
well, I just talked to my mother again and she says as long as you maybe give a little money for food every once in a while your welcome to stay for how ever long you like xD

So I'd say we just look how it goes xD I mean, I have no idea what I'll do with you an entire month (I don't want you to be bored or anything) but, hey, I'm sure we'd find something to do, should you decide to stay for so long. maybe we can even find you a job around here ... should you want that ... *thinks* oh well ... like I said, should you do that I'mn sure we'll find a way ^^

Re: it's me, just on a public computer
Sure, absolutely! I can definitely chip in on food and such. About what time are you heading home from London? I'll try to spend some time between Cardiff and heading your way so I can cut it down to maybe three weeks.

I would also totally be willing to work.

I'm sure we'll get it all hammered out!

Re: it's me, just on a public computer
Oh my ... one thing I am asking myself is ... why do I forget EVERYTIME you mention you have my ticket to SAY something!!!

BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL FLIPPING BRILLIANT!!!! Which date is it again, I totally forgot ... and I still can't BELIEVE I will see Hamlet!!! *beams*

Anyway - I am still not sure as to when I will return. I guess sometime around the Second week of December? but that is just a rough thought, nothing certain as of yet. And the way it looks now, you are more than welcome in our house so me is happy, too xD

Re: it's me, just on a public computer
Awesome! Your ticket is for the 14th of October. It's a stalls seat, too. We are still seeing LLL on Halloween?

Second week of December works for me as I'll be in Cardiff until then. I reworked the schedule a bit, so no rush. When you know the date better, I'll write it in my little book.

Re: it's me, just on a public computer
So ... seems like things are changing a bit from me. As I still haven't heard back from the hostel (after asking for some sort of confirmation twice) I am no longer counting on them and am looking for something new. I have acquaintances near London who are probably able to find a job for me for exactly the time I want - which, of course, would be awesome! We ARE still seeing LLL on Halloween *beams at her ticket hanging on her pinboard* and a friend pointed out an awesome B&B in Stratford which I just mailed and asked if they still had rooms available for the 14th and the 31st. What date is your Hamlet ticket for? Because, the way I understood it we wont be able to see it together (too bad). How about being roomies in Stratford? ^^

About the Germany stuff ... as I am a little more flexible at the moment, I would say - you tell me when it would fit you best and I'll keep that date in mind when making my plans from now on.

SO bloody excited! *beams*
